Social Action

Social Justice is a core value of NASA. Our Social Justice mission and work run deeply throughout all Program areas of Social Action. NASA addresses disparities in the society and works to strengthen the rights and voices of the most vulnerable in the target areas.

Millions of people – mostly dalits, adivasis and tribals have been the victims of discrimination, violence, exploitation, un-touchability, poverty, illiteracy, ignorance, other hate crimes and consequential disabilities for a very long time. They are treated as lesser human beings.

NASA has been working for the last 31 years at the grass root level on social justice issues and sustainable growth initiatives for backward communities. NASA mobilized many shows of strength and demands for justice in response to incidents of identity-based violence, exclusion and oppression

Sustainable growth programs include educating the dalits and other marginalized societies on their rights and duties, provide employment opportunities through livelihood programs and self help groups, provide civic facilities like health, clean water and help acquire resources like land that are critical to progress towards independence.
