Our Financial Needs (A)
poor children
Naked and poor, wretched and blind I come. Clothe me in white so I won't be ashamed, Lord. Light the Fire again.
New hospital & mobile clinic

In order to better help the Dalit people, we are planning to construct a hospital and run mobile clinic so that we can take better care of the people who cannot afford the costs. We wish to provide free or affordable health care, as many Dalits and poorer sections are exploited by doctors who perform unnecessary and costly tests - many times leading to hospital bills that cost more than what the Dalits could ever afford. This will require the purchasing of land nearby as well as building costs. Click here for more information about this huge undertaking.

Many children who sleep on the ground outside are killed by various snakes.
Church/Hall in the campus:

Because of cyclones, the temporary church/hall of Nazareth Ministries collapsed. Now we are finding it difficult to conduct worship services for the children and lepers in the campus. We are praying to construct a church facility that also serves as a community hall to conduct worship services, children programs, youth retreats, pastor's retreats and other programs with an estimated cost of $50,000 to accommodate 1,000 people.

Help for old aged/AIDS patients/Lepers:

We would like to help more old aged and AIDS patients. By donating $5 per month, we can help redeem another old aged/leper/AIDS patient.

Our Financial Needs (B)

A Procession for women's rights.

Micro Credit
SHG Group leader from the colony running petty trade taking loan from MACS

MicroCredit
Motivation camp for SHG groups

A federation (DPIS) for human rights.

Dalit Empowerment:

Still in many villages Dalits are not allowed to enter into the temples and they are discriminated as un-touchables. Savage practices, inhumane practices, arsons and killings on Dalits are seen daily in the newspapers. NASA is a leader organization in community development program for two decades. We need support for community organization for Dalit empowerment.

Microcredit program - MACS:

Dalit women are exploited doubly as women and Dalit women. They are exploited by the moneylenders and rich for petty amounts. For instance, a woman may borrow Rs. 80 ($2) from a moneylender and the moneylender collects Rs. 100 ($2.5) as repayment at the end of the day with a an exorbitant 20% interest. To redeem these women from the clutches of exploitation, NASA motivated about 10,000 women to form into 4 "MACS" (Mutually Aided Cooperative Societies) groups. These MACS groups are provding assistance of $100,000 to their members. Each member can be proided $50-$250 to run their petty trades. NASA is working on reaching 50,000 women.

Case Study:

Near Tuni, a slum area infamous for sex workers was washed away by a cyclone. NASA entered into their lives, constructed 76 houses for them and took up community organization program to change their lives. They were motivated to form SHGs (Self Help Groups) and linked to microcredit program groups (MACS). Most of them are engaged now in petty businesses like selling fruits. They totally came out from their previous way of life. New lives have begun, children are sent to school and they have dignity and a hope for future.

Land:

Land plays vital role in any society. Though Dalits toil on lands, they are deprived of owning their own land. NASA has been motivating landless oppressed communities to acquire and develop lands. So far our people have acquired and developed about 22,000 acres of land, and still there is more than 40,000 acres available to acquire and develop. To develop two acres of land for one family we need 2500Rs ($50 US). With that, we can provide self-employment and that leads to self-sustainability.

Her Husband died with AIDS and she is also infected with AIDS.She brought her two children to handover to the Light of Love Children's Home. Dr. Premdas is praying for her salvation.
AIDS:

In AIDS South Africa is standing first and India is in second place. In India our place is standing in the second row. The surveys revealed that most the AIDS deaths are recorded from Dalit communities. This is due to poverty and lack of awareness. NASA needs support to create awareness for AIDS and to help the AIDS patients who are on the edge of death.
